The podcasts I listened to were Batty about Bats, Colonial Williamsburg Past and Present, and Practical Principals. All of these podcast were interesting. The one I liked the best is the batty about bats. A second grade class did the podcast and it was cute and interesting. I liked it because the students were the ones who make the podcast and it shows what the learned. The other two were also interesting and very informative. The history podcast was more for a classroom lesson or additional information. The principals podcast was the talking about school and conferences between two principals. There are many ideas for podcast in the classroom. There are many educational podcast that can you can include in the lesson. The students can create their own podcast from the lessons. There are also ones that can give information to help students do better in class. I do like using Youtube. It has a bunch of interesting videos and can be very informative. I am not a regular Youtube user but it is easy to use. It is similar to any kind of search on yahoo or google. I chose the funny dogs video because it was so cute and funny. I love watching any kind of animals especially dogs do crazy things. The advantages for embedding a video is that you can see it on the blog and view it. It will stay on your blog until you take it off. If you post it as a link, sometimes it may not work or the video can be deleted without you knowing it. The embedding process was very easy. It was just like any other document with copy and paste. Youtubes place in the classroom is for educational use and the teacher is the one that uses it. There is just to many bad things that get posted. I like the educational sites like teachertube and Schooltube. These two sites are for educational purposes and have only school related information on them. It is safer than Youtube. The students love youtube because they can find out anything they want to. It has everything on pretty much any subject. They can also post youtube videos themselves. Video sharing and podcasts make communication better. There is more interaction and you can communicate with people that you would never be able to meet. You can find out so much information and post your information for others. It is a learning tool as well as a teaching tool. It is a way to share your knowledge and gain knowledge from others.
